The Jacksonville Jaguars' offensive struggles have highlighted the importance of the punting game. Rookie punter Bryan Anger, who was selected in the third round of this past year's draft, is averaging 52.6 yards per punt so far this year, good for second in the NFL.
However, according to Pro Football Weekly, Anger's directional and situational punting skills still need to be sharpened. With the Jaguars offense struggling the way it is, being able to regularly pin opponents deep in their own territory could be the difference in winning and losing a game. By all reports, Anger has the skills necessary to become proficient at this, but just needs more experience.
