Rays Vs. Blue Jays Game Preview: Tampa Bay Looks To Win 4th Straight

The Tampa Bay Rays will try to make it four wins in a row as they take on the Toronto Blue Jays in the second game of their three-game series at Tropicana Field.

The Rays dominated the series opener Friday, beating the Blue Jays 12-1. James Shields pitched seven scoreless innings for the win, scattering six hits and a walk for his 15th win of the season.

Joe Maddon will turn to Matt Moore (10-11, 3.88 ERA) on Saturday night to keep the Rays postseason hopes alive, hoping he can improve from his last start against the New York Yankees. Moore was given the loss when he gave up five runs on three hits and four walks in just three innings of work.

The Blue Jays will counter with Brandon Morrow (8-6, 2.98 ERA) who is quietly having a very solid year for Toronto. Morrow has given up two earned runs or less in eight of his last ten starts, including his last start against the Boston Red Sox. Morrow was given a no decision, but held Boston scoreless in six innings, giving up only four hits.

Time/day: Saturday, Sept. 22 at 7:10 p.m ET.

Place: Tropicana Field, St. Petersburg, FL
