The 23.5-point favored Florida Gators haven't broken away from Kentucky yet, leading just 3-0 early in the game. Kentucky's defense was able to contain the Gator offense for much of the first quarter.
Florida's first two possessions resulted in punt attempts, before the Gators were able to score on a 26-yard field goal with 5:58 to go in the quarter. Kentucky's offense was more productive as the final two minutes of the period approached.
The Wildcats have been unable to convert on their opportunities. It's defense has kept them in the game so far. The Gators didn't have a successful third down attempt until their final drive of the quarter.
Kentucky kicker Craig McIntosh missed a 54-yard attempt that would have tied the game.
Also, Trey Burton is missing on the sideline for the Gators and there should be more on that later.
