Miami Vs. Georgia Tech Score Update: Yellow Jackets Lead At Half, 22-19

Georgia Tech dominated the second quarter, scoring three touchdowns in less than eight minutes of play, to take the lead over the Miami Hurricanes 22-19 at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta.

Led by quarterback Tevin Washington, Georgia Tech has amassed 141 yards of rushing offense and a trio of touchdowns through two quarters. Two of those touchdowns came via Washington himself, who has 40 rushing yards and 74 passing yards so far.

Miami's Stephen Morris and Phillip Dorsett have been instrumental to Miami's offense so far. Morris has passed for 187 yards, a touchdown and a pick on the half, with that touchdown and 153 of those yards being hauled in by Dorsett on six receptions.

Miami's other touchdown came off of a 1-yard Mike James rush to end the first quarter.

There was a bit of an odd moment in the first quarter, as Yellow Jackets returner Orwin Smith unintentionally gave up a safety. Returning a kickoff from Miami's Jake Wieclaw, Smith caught the kick in the end zone and, intending to earn a touchback, took a knee while placing his hand on the field in front of the end zone. Likely unbeknownst to Smith, his hand placement does result in a safety in that situation.

Georgia Tech will receive the ball at the beginning of the second half.
