FAU Vs. Alabama Final Score: Crimson Tide Coast, 40-7

The Alabama Crimson Tide weren't expected to have problems with the Florida Atlantic Owls, and there were none as the Tide coasted to a 40-7.

Alabama got off to a fast start when A.J. McCarron connected with Kenny Bell for an 86 yard touchdown pass on the third play of the game. McCarron added a second touchdown pass in the first quarter, a four yard toss to DeAndrew White. Three straight field goals followed in the second quarter, including a 52 yard boot from Cade Foster. McCarron added a third touchdown right before halftime, connecting with Christian Jones on a four yard pass to make it 30-0 at the break.

Blake Sims came on for McCarron in the third quarter, as the game was well in hand for the Tide. At that point, Alabama had taken their foot off the pedal, and Kenyan Drake added the final score to make it 40-0 in the fourth quarter. Drake finished with 36 yards rushing, behind Eddie Lacy's 106 yards and T.J. Yeldon's 62 yards.

Florida Atlantic made it 40-7 with 3:37 left in the game, but it was the lone bright spot in a miserable day for the Owl offense. They were held to 110 yards of total offense and only six first downs on the day.

Box Score Hero: McCarron had an outstanding day, going 15-25 for 228 yards and three touchdowns before being relieved in the second half.

Rankings Ramifications: There's no reason to believe that Alabama will be dislodged from their No. 1 ranking.

But Did They Cover? Alabama was favored by 48.5 points, so the Tide weren't able to cover.
