Jets Vs. Dolphins Score Update: Miami Leads 7-0 After One Quarter

The Miami Dolphins took a 7-0 lead early against the New York Jets, and that score held through to the end of the first quarter.

The Dolphins took early advantage of a Mark Sanchez mistake, intercepting the Jets quarterback on the fifth play from scrimmage of the game. Miami took over at the Jets 47-yard line and needed eight plays, six of which were rushes, to take a 7-0 lead.

The big play of the drive was a Reggie Bush 26-yard run on a 2nd-and-11 play that put the Dolphins down to the 10-yard line. Three plays later, running back Daniel Thomas punched it in from a yard out to score.

The Jets' offense struggled to get anything going in the first quarter against Miami's defense. None of the three New York first-quarter drives—the third of which leaked into the first bit of the second quarter—lasted longer than seven plays, and the three drives ended with an interception and two straight punts.
