Even after the half, the Cowboys and Buccaneers couldn't catch any momentum in the third quarter, leaving the Cowboys with a 10-7 leaded to the final period in Dallas.
The lone highlight of the quarter, a Michael Bennett strip-sack on Tony Romo, put the Bucs on the Cowboys' 31-yard line, but an intentional grounding penalty on Josh Freeman killed the drive before it ever had a chance to get started.
Both defenses have played exceptionally well, with the Cowboys holding the Buccaneers to just 101 total yards, and the Bucs hemming in Romo and the Cowboys to a penalty-filled performance.
The Cowboys did find a bright spot with less than a minute to go in the third when Miles Austin caught a 44-yard pass to put Dallas deep in Tampa territory.
