Marlins vs. Braves final score: Miami bats silent again in 3-0 loss to Atlanta

The Miami Marlins lost Game 2 of their series against the Atlanta Braves Wednesday night, 3-0. Miami has lost three in a row against Atlanta and six straight overall and four of the last five games the teams have faced off.

Miami starter Josh Johnson went six innings, giving up three runs on four hits. As has been the case often this season, the Marlins' offense was unable to bail him out. The Atlanta staff combined to hold Miami to six hits and no runs. The Marlins were 0-4 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.

A home run by Martin Prado put the Braves up 1-0 in the first, and they never looked back. Prado added another with an RBI single in the third, and one more run came in the sixth. A pitch from Johnson was high and outside and it ricocheted off catcher John Buck's glove, allowing Dan Uggla to take home without even a slide.

With the loss Miami falls to 66-89. They will try to avoid a sweep on Thursday, with Game 3 of the series scheduled for 7:10 p.m. ET.
