U.S. Open 2012 Update: Rain Moves Finals To Sunday

Stay connected for news and updates

Inclement weather in New York has moved the U.S. Open 2012 finals to tomorrow, with Olympic champion Andy Murray awaiting the outcome of the delayed match between defending champion Novak Djokovic and fourth-seeded David Ferrer to determine his finals opponent. At the time of the delay, Ferrer was leading Djokovic 5-2 in the match's first set.

The womens final between Serena Williams and Victoria Azarenka has also been moved to Sunday.

Murray reached the Open finals by defeating Czech star Tomas Berdych 5-7, 6-2, 6-1, 7-6 (7), in a match which itself was delayed by unfavorable weather conditions. Murray's finals appearance makes this the first major tennis tournament since the 2004 French Open which will not see either Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal in the finals.

CBS Sports Network will begin coverage of the U.S. Open finals at 4:00 p.m. Eastern.
