South Florida Vs. Nevada Blogger Reaction

The South Florida Bulls needed a 52-yard touchdown pass from B.J. Daniels to Andre Davis with 38 seconds left to beat the Nevada Wolf Pack on Saturday night 32-31. Daniels had 12 receptions for 191 yards and two touchdowns, and Daniels threw for 363 yards and three scores.

Over at Voodoo Five, Jamie DeVriend is still trying to figure out how the Bulls were able to win despite a number of gaffes. They committed 13 penalties for 107 yards. Terrence Mitchell muffed a punt that Nevada recovered. The Bulls missed an extra point because of a faulty snap.

DeVriend called it "bad process, good outcome." From DeVriend:

"While it's good for us because it makes our blogging experience much richer, this is a pretty unstable team so far, and the disorganization and bad decision-making on this team is reaching a critical point. You can't have back-to-back false starts inside your own 10-yard line and then call a timeout. You can't punt from midfield down by 11 with seven minutes to go when your defense is tired and has given up almost 500 yards to that point. (Another bad process, good outcome.)"

DeVriend likened it to poker. Skill and talent define a poker player's career. Otherwise, everybody would try professional poker-playing. But within an individual hand, luck plays a huge part. If South Florida can't sustain the luck that came with a number of poor decisions Saturday that somehow led to a win, at least they won Saturday.
