Alabama comes in as a heavy favorite to win its third title in four years under Nick Saban.

The Alabama Crimson Tide come into the BCS National Championship Game as heavy favorites against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, laying 9.5 points, according to oddsshark.com.

Alabama has one loss on the year which came to Johnny Manziel and the Texas A&M Aggies, but still garner tons of respect as defending champions and the title-holders of the SEC.

On the other hand, Notre Dame is undefeated but also has faced a much easier schedule. The Fighting Irish have only faced a handful of quality opponents all year, notably the Stanford Cardinal, Michigan Wolverines and Oklahoma Sooners.

Both teams have bone-crushing defenses, which is why the over/under for Monday's matchup is a miniscule 40.5. The Irish are tops in the nation, allowing only 10.3 points per game, following by the Crimson Tide's 10.6 number.

Not surprisingly with such a large spread, just over 61 percent of the action is being put on Notre Dame.
