Royals Vs. White Sox: KC Has No Answer For Gavin Floyd In 5-0 Loss

Led by the pitching of Gavin Floyd and the hitting of Adam Dunn, the Chicago White Sox were able to cruise to a 5-0 victory over the Royals on Friday night.

Felipe Paulino (1-1) was unable to replicate the succes he has against the Yankees in his first start of the season last week. White Sox slugger Adam Dunn hit his 11th home run of the season off of Paulino in the first inning to give his team a lead they would never relinquish. Alex Rios added a two-run triple in the sixth inning to give his team a 4-0 cushion. This hit chased Paulino from the game, as he gave up four earned runs on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings.

Floyd improved his record to 3-3 with the win, allowing only five hits in 7 2/3 innings. Kansas City certainly had their chances, loading the bases in both the second and eight innings. However, in both instances the White Sox were able to pitch their way out of trouble as the Royals just couldn't up with the big hit on this night.

Local golfer Chez Reavie also failed to make the cut, finishing his round at 3-over par.
