Former Conference USA freshman of the year Jeff Godfrey appears to be well on his way to rejoining the UCF Knights. However, he'll have to learn a new position when coming back.

Jeff Godfrey was the 2010 Conference USA freshmen of the year as a quarterback, but left the Central Florida Knights with bad feelings, but he will be allowed to return to the program this fall. However, he will have to learn to play a new position, wide receiver according to an article posted on Florida Today by David Jones.

Godfrey left the program after both his father, Jeff Godfrey, Sr. and his mentor Luther Campbell claimed that UCF head coach George O'Leary was racist. O'Leary wants to let bygones be bygones and welcome back a gifted athlete like Godfrey back on the team.

I've met with him a couple of times and basically he has some things he has to take care of regarding school itself, some sanctions he has to deal with. If he does that I told him that, meeting with the coaching staff and myself the last time, that I would take him back.

With UCF joining the Big East for the 2013-14 season, they could use as many skill position players as they possibly could to help with the raised competitiveness of a BCS conference.
