The first official BCS standings of 2012 were released Sunday night, with Alabama and Florida atop the rankings and the inside track to the national title game
The first official BCS standings of the 2012 season were released on Sunday night and there was no surprise at the very top of the rankings, with the Alabama Crimson Tide coming in as the No. 1-ranked team in the nation.
The Florida Gators are right behind the Crimson Tide, coming in at No. 2 in the BCS. The Harris poll believes Florida should be lower than that, though, ranking them third and the computer rankings have them as the top team in the nation. Florida is one of seven ranked SEC teams in the top 25 and one of six in the top 12.
While the BCS standings have Florida State at No. 14, the Harris poll ranks FSU at No. 8 and USA Today also believes they are better than that, putting them at No. 10.
