Louisiana-Lafayette vs. Florida 2012: Offensive line must improve

The Florida Gators narrowly escaped an upset bid by Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday.

The Florida Gators narrowly escaped an upset bid by Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday, as they came from behind to win, 27-20, on a special teams touchdown in the final minute of the game.

Andy Hutchins of Alligator Army categorized the Florida offensive line as "embarrassing" on Saturday:

This line is not what we thought Florida had after it wore Texas A&M down or when it made LSU quit, but is it what we spent the offseason fearing would be the Gators' Achilles heel.

Hutchins adds that if the line doesn't improve in the next few weeks, the Gators will lose to Florida State on Nov. 24. He feels that the Seminoles have the best defensive line that Florida will face all season.

Florida running back Mike Gillislee carried the ball 14 times for just 45 yards on Saturday, while Jeff Driskel was 13-of-16 passing for 98 yards and one touchdown. As a team, Florida generated 311 yards of offense but were 4-of-14 on third-down conversions.
