No. 7 Florida takes on UCF in an intrastate battle on Friday. Elsewhere, Jacksonville takes on Rider and Florida A&M faces Longwood.
Here's a look at Friday's college basketball schedule for the state of Florida:
UCF at No. 7 Florida
The Gators host the Knights in an intrastate battle on Friday and hope leading scorer Kenny Boynton will be ready to go after leaving the last game with a sprained ankle. Boynton is currently averaging 14.3 points on the season and is expected to be back in the lineup. Florida will need him, as they take on a UCF squad that upset the Gators two years ago in the last meeting between the teams. The Knights have gotten off to a 3-1 start this year, winning their first three before dropping their last outing against Middle Tennessee. Beating the Gators would be a tall order with or without Boynton, as Florida is giving up just 44.0 points per game. 4 p.m. ET on ESPN3.
Rider vs. Jacksonville
The Dolphins and Broncs square off in the Hoops for Hope Classic in Puerto Vallarta. Both teams have gotten off to a 2-3 start. Jacksonville has managed two wins despite ranking just 253rd in the nation in scoring at 63.4 points per game. The Dolphins currently do not have a double-digit scorer. Meanwhile, Rider is led by Nurideen Lindsey's 18.0 points per game. 4:30 p.m. ET
Longwood vs. Florida A&M
This game in the Las Vegas Invitational features two teams that have not won a game yet, as both squads are 0-4. The Rattlers have lost their last three games by double-digits and are 321st in the country in shooting at 37.2 percent. The Lancers are right ahead of them in 320th and are scoring just 58.3 points per game. 2 p.m. ET
