Gators Injury Update: John Brantley Probable Against Georgia

The Florida Gators have had a disappointing season so far, but things are beginning to look up for them. After having a bye week this past weekend -- you can't lose those! -- the Gators are finally getting healthy. During Monday's press conference, head coach Will Muschamp stated that most of the team's injured players are on track to return this upcoming weekend against #22 Georgia, including starting quarterback John Brantley:

"We feel like John will be ready to go for the game," Muschamp said. "As we progress through the week we'll know more about his status. We expect his reps to increase as the week grows. But we wanted to get him out there moving around and get people around him and throw the football around a little bit. I fully expect him to continue to progress through the week unless we hit something that we're not predicting. I fully expect him to be fine."

Brantley is officially listed as "probable", and having him back at quarterback would be a huge boost to the Gators' offense. They have struggled during their last two games, scoring only 17 points against LSU and Auburn with backup Jacoby Brissett at the helm.

Brantley was originally injured back in early October against Alabama, and he's been working hard to recover from his high ankle sprain ever since. His injury has effectively sunk the Gators' season, but if the Gators can win out from here on, they can at least finish the season with a respectable line.
