The Florida Gators earned a seven seed in the 2012 NCAA Tournament. They will face Virginia in their first game.
The 2012 NCAA Tournament bracket and field has been announced, and the Florida Gators will receive a 10 seed in the West region. The Gators' first opponent will be the Virginia Cavaliers, and they will play on Friday, March 16th in Omaha. If the Gators win their first matchup, they will face the winner of No. 2 Missouri and No. 15 Norfolk State on Sunday, March 18th.

The Florida Gators earned the seven after finishing second in the SEC's East division. Florida entered the year with high hopes and often displayed inconsistency during the regular season. The Gators ultimately were impressive even in losing to Kentucky in the SEC Tournament semifinals, battling the top-ranked Wildcats all the way in a 74-71 loss.
