Florida Gators freshman guard Bradley Beal has declared for the 2012 NBA Draft, according to a report.

The majority of star underclassman have decided to make the jump and enter the 2012 NFL Draft. Florida Gators freshman Bradley Beal is one of those underclassman who has decided to declare for the NBA Draft according to a report by Jeff Goodman of CBS Sports. Originally it was thought that Beal might return to Florida, which would have made them one of the preseason favorites in the upcoming college basketball season.

According to sources, the 6-foot-3 Beal -- whose return would have made the Gators a Top five preseason team next season -- will announce his departure on Friday at a news conference at 10:30 a.m.

Some experts believe that Beal will be a lottery pick in the NBA Draft and could even be picked as high as No. 2 overall. Beal averaged 14.8 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists in his lone season with the Gators, helping Florida get to the NCAA Tournament before ultimately being knocked off early.
