Florida guard Bradley Beal has long been linked to the Washington Wizards by analysts and the conventional wisdom forming around 2012 NBA mock drafts. Washington has the third pick in the first round and could use a player with Beal's ability. However, a weekend report says that the Cleveland Cavaliers also favor Beal and could swing a deal to draft him.
Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer says that the Cavs could trade with the Charlotte Bobcats for the second pick in the draft, which they would use to nab Beal.
After calling some sources with lottery picks Saturday, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Charlotte Bobcats and Cleveland Cavaliers swap draft picks in Thursday's draft. In that sort of a deal, the Bobcats would pick fourth and 24th and the Cavs would move up to No. 2.
Beal, the thinking goes, is a logical fit in Cleveland as a perimeter shooter to match with rookie of the year Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson.
