As college football season nears, two of the Gators' linemen are on watch lists for position and unit awards.

The University of Florida is no stranger to placing multiple names on the annual preseason award watch lists, but after four awards revealed their potential winners on Monday, only a pair of Gators have been named.

Defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd was nominated for the Chuck Bednarik award, given annually to the best defensive player in the nation. Junior center Jonotthan Harrison is a nominee for the Rimington Trophy, given each year to the best center in the game.

Floyd is a former consensus five-star recruit who sat out two games of the 2011 season after receiving improper benefits, but still managed an impressive sophomore campaign over 11 games, totaling 46 total tackles, 14 for a loss and 1.5 sacks, as well as a blocked kick and four QB hurries. Since its inception in 1995, a Florida Gator has never won the Bednarik.

Harrison played in all 26 games of his college career, and started at center in 12 games last year, once starting at left guard.
