The No. 23 Florida State Seminoles (7-3, 5-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) host the Virginia Cavaliers (7-3, 4-2 ACC) in their final home game of the 2011 season this Saturday, Nov. 19. A victory against the Miami Hurricanes last Saturday helped Florida State climb back into the Associated Press Top 25, where it hadn't been since Oct. 2. The Seminoles' season seems to be back on the right track following a shaky 2-3 start.
The Cavaliers have won three straight and are on the rise. Further, they upset the then-No. 12 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in their lone game against a ranked opponent this season, so Virginia is indeed a dangerous team. Lead running back Perry Jones averages 5.3 yards per carry and has five touchdowns, but is also a threat as a receiver, with 32 catches and two scores through the air.
When these teams met last season, the Seminoles cruised to a 34-14 win, outgaining the Cavaliers on the ground, 256 yards to 25, an incredible feat. The outcome was never in doubt, as the Seminoles raced to a 27-0 lead in the first half.
