The 6-foot-8 forward's 2011 campaign is over after undergoing shoulder surgery.

Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton has announced that forward Terrance Shannon will miss the rest of the 2011-2012 basketball season after undergoing shoulder surgery according to the Tallahasse Democrat.

Shannon was the Seminoles' third leading scorer at 8.3 points per game and also averaged 4.4 rebounds per game in seven games played. He has been out of action since the team's 78-76 loss against Connecticut on Nov. 26.

The news on the 6-foot-8 junior from Forsyth, Ga. comes just two days before Florida State's game against No. 12 ranked Florida in Gainesville on Thursday. The 'noles are 3-1 in his absence but will have to begin facing the rigors of Atlantic Coast Conference play without him starting on Jan. 7 against Clemson. Florida State closes out its non-conference schedule against Princeton on Dec. 30 and Auburn on Jan. 4.
