Seminoles Should Be Familiar With Clemson Defensive Coordinator

The Florida State Seminoles will be facing a familiar opponent on Saturday -- aside from the Clemson Tigers in general. Florida State's offense will face off against Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables for a third consecutive year -- but first as defensive coordinator of Clemson.

So far, it hasn't gone so well for Jimbo Fisher's offenses against Venables' defenses. Per Tomahawk Nation, SB Nation's Seminoles blog:

Jimbo Fisher matches gridiron wits with Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables for the third straight year after seeing his defenses in 2010 and 2011 when he held the same position at Oklahoma.

While Venables arguably had an upper hand in terms of personnel in both of those games, there's little denying that he has gotten the best of Fisher each time. Florida State's offense struggled to move the ball consistently and avoid mistakes against the Sooners in both 2010 and 2011.

There are more salient points over at Tomahawk Nation on why Fisher's offense may just have the upper hand in this matchup, as the Seminoles get ready to take on the Tigers.
