The South Florida Bulls know their defense has to improve for Saturday's game against the Florida St. Seminoles. Bulls defensive players regretted their performance in Saturday's 31-27 loss to the Ball St. Cardinals.
Senior linebacker Mike Lanaris posted an apologetic tweet Saturday night after the loss:
To Bullsnation, i apologize for the performance of our D. As a senior, i accept full responsibility and vow for it to never happen again.

Defensive end Ryne Giddins told Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times that Saturday's game against the Seminoles is a chance for the Bulls to recapture their reputation for aggressive defense.
"This game can prove a lot to ourselves, not just to everybody else. We accept the challenge. ... We're not attacking. The front seven's starting to read stuff, which we normally don't do. We're going back to attacking, not just fitting in gaps. We're hitting people in the mouth."
Saturday's game between the Bulls and the Seminoles will kick off at Raymond James Stadium at 6 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN.

The Florida State Seminoles are coming off of a thrilling 49-37 win over Clemson on Saturday, and now prepare for a date with an inferior opponent in the South Florida Bulls.
Don't expect the Seminoles to take the Bulls lightly, though, as Florida St. seems to be fully aware that the Bulls have the potential to beat them on any given Saturday.
On the surface, it appears the Bulls and No. 4 Seminoles are headed in different directions. But as good as it felt to beat then-No. 10 Clemson on Saturday, FSU's players insist they won't take USF lightly.
"It definitely gives you a lot of confidence," sophomore cornerback Nick Waisome said of the Clemson win. "But you've got to play every week. It's not like you can relax. USF's a great team. It's our first road game. It's going to be like a Super Bowl over there."
It's going to be their "Super Bowl" is a great way to put it, as knocking off the Seminoles could potentially serve as a stepping stone to turn USF's season around.

The Florida St. Seminoles are excited to face the South Florida Bulls on Saturday. Running back James Wilder Jr., who went to school at Plant High School in Tampa Bay, told Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times that he is excited to play in his home town again:
"USF, I can't wait. A lot of my teammates know. I've got all their tickets. I have a lot of people's tickets, where I can get everybody from Tampa there to make sure it'll be a great USF game."
Wlder has collected 18 tickets in addition to his typical allocation of four. Tickets have been going quick and the game is expected to be the first sellout for South Florida in five years.
Wide receiver Christian Green, who was a star at Tampa Catholic, grew up rooting for the Bulls as his father played basketball there in the '70s, in addition to working with South Florida for much of his professional career. Green admits that he considered signing with the Bulls quite a bit before signing with the Seminoles:
"It's going to mean a lot to me because I grew up there, going to USF games, and now I'm coming home with a lot of friends and family at the game,"
The Seminoles and the Bulls will play at Raymond James Stadium on Saturday night. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. and the game will be televised on ESPN.
