The Florida State Seminoles will face the Savannah State Tigers in Week 2. The Seminoles were victorious in Week 1, 69-3.
The sixth-ranked Florida State Seminoles will look to follow up their 69-3 victory in Week 1 with an equally impressive performance against Savannah State on Saturday. They should have a good chance at doing even better, as Savannah State lost their first game 84-0.
They'll have to do it without star defensive end Brandon Jenkins. Jenkins, who recorded 21.5 sacks over the last two seasons, suffered a season-ending Lisfranc injury in the first half of the Seminoles' win over Murray State.
Florida State will again look to their rushing attack to win the game. They used seven different ball carriers in their first game, combining for 285 yards and seven rushing touchdowns. James Wilder Jr. led the team with 12 carries for 106 yards with two scores, but Lonnie Pryor was a red-zone machine, picking up 28 yards on five carries and three scores.
Week 1 saw the Seminoles move from No. 7 to No. 6 in the AP Top 25 poll. There's no doubt they're aiming even higher in Week 2.
