Florida State vs, Maryland: Seminoles win the ACC Atlantic division

US PRESSWIRE

Florida State won its fifth game in a row on Saturday.

Florida State won its fifth game in a row after defeating Maryland, 41-14, on Saturday. With the win, Florida clinched the ACC Atlantic division for the third time in seven years.

Florida State's 7-1 conference record is its best since 2005. The Seminoles won the division in 2005 and 2010 and won the conference title versus Virginia Tech in 2005 while losing to the same Hokies in 2010.

Bud Elliott of Tomahawk Nation is "amazed" that Florida State has won the division title just twice before this season.

Florida State's opponent in the ACC title game will be determined next week as Miami, Duke, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech are still alive with one regular season game to play.

Florida State will play Florida in a non-conference game with BCS implications next week as both teams are 10-1 on the season and ranked in the top-10 in the polls.
