Stay connected for news and updates

The third quarter is in the books and Florida State is still in a tight game on the road against Virginia Tech. The Seminoles lead 20-17. Florida State got on the board first in the third quarter when E.J. Manuel led Florida State down the field 49 yards on just six plays, and completed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Greg Dent.

On that drive, Manuel was a perfect 4-of-4 for 41 yards on the scoring drive. The touchdown was set up when Florida State's Terrence Brooks forced the fumble, and then was recovered by Vince Williams at the Hokies' 49-yard line.

Virginia Tech responded on its next drive to keep pace with Florida State when quarterback Logan Thomas scored on a 5-yard rush to keep it a three-point game. The Seminoles' defense did allow Thomas to complete 44-yard pass to Corey Fuller, and that put Virginia Tech at the Florida State 23-yard line. The Hokies scored four plays later.
