Maurice Jones-Drew has been ruled out of Jacksonville's Thursday night contest against the Indianapolis Colts.
Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey confirmed Monday that running back Maurice Jones-Drew has been ruled out for Thursday Night Football.
Jones-Drew injured himself during Jacksonville's Week 7 loss against the Oakland Raiders. Jones-Drew recorded just two carries in Week 7 contest, before going down with a foot injury.
Jones-Drew's injury was originally feared to be a Lisfranc injury, which would have ended the talented running back's season, but a Lisfranc injury was later ruled out. Instead, Jones-Drew reportedly suffered an arch sprain, which still will leave the running back sidelined for an extended period of time.
Jones-Drew has carried the ball 86 times for 414 yards and a touchdown so far this season, with his biggest output coming in Jacksonville's lone win of the season. In Jacksonville's Week 3 win over the Indianapolis Colts, Jones-Drew rushed for 177 yards on 28 carries.
Rashad Jennings will continue to fill in for Jones-Drew.
