The 4-7 Buffalo Bills host the 2-9 Jacksonville Jaguars in a matchup of two teams that need a win. Jacksonville is riding the momentum of a Week 12 victory over Tennessee.
The 2-9 Jaguars visit a 4-7 Bills squad that was beat a week ago by Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts, 20-13. Jacksonville enters Week 13 on the high note of a 24-19 victory over divisional rival, the Tennessee Titans.
Jacksonville's offense has struggled, ranking 31st in the NFL in rushing yards per game with an average a fraction over 81 per game. The injury of top line running back Maurice Jones-Drew on Oct. 21 against the Oakland Raiders has stunted the rushing attack. Before getting hurt and missing the team's last five games, Jones-Drew was the leading rusher with 414 yards.
Rashad Jennings has gotten the bulk of the carries in Jones-Drew's absence. Jennings has 263 yards and two touchdowns on 93 attempts this season. This week, he will go up against a 31st ranked Bill's rushing defense that has allowed an average of 147.3 yards per game in 2012.
Leading the Bills is quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who has completed 219 passes thus far in 2012 for 18 touchdowns. Running back C.J. Spiller heads a rushing attack that is seventh in the NFL, averaging 140.3 yards per game. Spiller has carried 123 times for 830 yards and four touchdowns so far this season.
Both teams are currently at the bottom of their respective divisions. Buffalo could move ahead of the New York Jets with a win and possibly into a tie for second depending on the Miami Dolphins' result.
