After being waived by the St. Louis Rams, the wide receiver is close to re-signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to a report.

Mike Sims-Walker will re-sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union. The St. Louis Rams waived the wide receiver Monday after acquiring Brandon Lloyd from the Denver Broncos, but it didn't take long for him to find gainful employment.

The Jaguars made Sims-Walker the 79th overall pick of the 2007 NFL Draft. In three seasons with Jacksonville, he recorded 122 receptions for 1648 yards and 14 touchdowns. However, the Jags let him leave in free agency, leading to his signing with the Rams.

He didn't fare as well in St. Louis as he or the Rams might have hoped. Just a few weeks into the season he became no better than the Rams' fourth option in the passing game. His career reached a nadir of sorts when St. Louis removed him from its active roster for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers. In four games as a Ram, Sims-Walker caught 11 passes for 139 yards, with no touchdowns.

Perhaps Sims-Walker can return to form and help a Jaguars offense which ranks last in the NFL in passing yards (826) and No. 30 in touchdowns (four). Indeed, Sims-Walker's 139 yards receiving this season would rank him behind only Mike Thomas and Jason Hill on the Jaguars.
