Maurice Jones-Drew Fantasy Update: Jaguars Running Back One Yard Short Of 100 Yard Performance

The Jaguars offense was woeful on Sunday afternoon in a 20-13 home loss to the Houston Texans. Running back Maurice Jones-Drew, as is often the case, did provide a bright spot in an ugly performance. The Jags' running back carried the ball 18 times for 99 yards.

The yards on the ground did not tell the whole story for Jones-Drew, as is typically the case. MJD also caught four balls for 67 yards, including a 31 yard scamper on a pass from Blaine Gabbert. While the Jags were held out of the end zone on offense, Jones-Drew fantasy owners have to be pleased with his production both on the ground and in the air. He was the lone positive on offense, in an anemic performance that saw Jack Del Rio bench Gabbert.

Jaguars Vs. Texans: Jacksonville Offense Struggles In 20-13 Loss To Houston

The Jacksonville Jaguars lost their second straight game on Sunday afternoon, falling at home to the Houston Texans, 20-13. The Jags offense was anemic for most of the afternoon, and failed to score an offensive touchdown. They were buoyed by an Ashton Youboty fumble recovery for a touchdown and the 7-0 lead, but that would be the only score and lead of the day for Jacksonville. A dropped touchdown by Marcedes Lewis, who stood alone in the end zone, was the one great scoring chance Jacksonville had on offense.

Blaine Gabbert tried to manage the game for the Jags, but he was ineffective against what is statistically the league's top ranked defense. Gabbert finished 13 of 29 for 136 yards. The rookie also threw a bad interception, just his sixth of the season. The ineffective play led to head coach Jack Del Rio making the call to Luke McCown for relief. McCown went 7 for 11 and the Jags were able to threaten Houston in the fourth, moving the ball into Houston territory for a field goal to cut it to a touchdown lead. McCown would move the Jags into Houston territory on a 25 yard pass to Lewis, but the drive to tie the game stalled, as the Jags offense was held without a touchdown.

At 3-8, Jacksonville will continue the home stand next Monday night when they host San Diego.

Jaguars Vs. Texans Score Update: Houston Maintains 20-10 Lead At End Of Third Quarter

The Jacksonville Jaguars enter the fourth quarter trailing the Houston Texans by ten in a divisional Week 12 matchup at EverBank Field. Jacksonville has yet to score an offensive touchdown today but it was not due to lack of opportunity. In the first half, Blaine Gabbert hit tight end Marcedes Lewis right in the hands on a second and goal pass. Lewis simply dropped the ball, even fooling announcer Kevin Harlan who exclaimed it was a touchdown. The chance was set up by Gabbert lacing a 22 yard pass down the middle to Cecil Shorts. But Lewis's drop would be costly, as the Jags had to settle for a Josh Scobee field goal - their only offensive score of the day.

With Matt Leinart out for the game with a shoulder injury, the Texans' offense is now being led by T.J. Yates. Houston has yet to get on the board, and has tried to move the ball on the ground and let Yates manage the game with some short passes. Arian Foster has carried it 18 times for 62 yards but the Jags' defense continues to keep Houston at bay in the second half.

Jaguars Vs. Texans: Matt Leinart Injured At End Of First Half

Matt Leinart was injured with under two minutes remaining in the first half against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Leinart was slammed to the ground by Jaguars' defensive end Jeremy Mincey. It appeared Leinart injured his left shoulder or arm after falling on it awkwardly with Mincey on top of him. He walked to the locker room with trainers before the half ended.

The Texans lead the Jaguars, 20-10 late in the second half. Leinart has certainly managed the game well for the Texans, completing ten of his 13 attempts in the first quarter. He threw his first touchdown pass in nearly three years, hooking up with tight end Joel Dreessen. T.J. Yates, who didn't even have time to warm up on the sidelines, replaced Leinart. It is the third Texans' quarterback to see time in the past three weeks. Matt Schaub is already out for the season.

Jaguars Vs. Texans: Houston Up 14-10 On Matt Leinart Touchdown Pass

Houston Texans' quarterback Matt Leinart threw his first touchdown pass in almost three years on Sunday afternoon. Leinart hit Houston tight end Joel Dreessen for a 20 yard touchdown pass to give the Texans a 14-10 lead at EverBank field. Houston went playaction as Leinart faked a handoff and then rolled out to his left. Jaguars' defensive lineman Jeremy Mincey was not fooled, however, as he was right in Leinart's face as he rolled outside the tackle box. Somehow, the Texans quarterback was able to get the ball away, hoisting a prayer towards Dreessen who was rolling across the field with Leinart. The floater landed in Dreessen's arms who then took it in for the Texans' second score of the day. Video of the touchdown below:

Jaguars Vs. Texans: Ashton Youboty Gives Jacksonville 7-0 Lead On Arian Foster Fumble Recovery

The Jacksonville Jaguars jumped out to a 7-0 lead with a defensive touchdown on Sunday afternoon at EverBank field. Ashton Youboty took an Arian Foster fumble 38 yards for the touchdown. Foster was running laterally to his right and appeared to leave his feet as Youboty came diving in for the tackle. While in the air, Foster hit his teammate, wide receiver Andre Johnson whose arm appeared to knock the ball loose. Youboty got up off the ground and quickly scooped up the loose ball to take it in untouched. With Blaine Gabbert yet to complete a pass in the first quarter, the Jags will need call on their defense throughout the day, and Youboty's touchdown was a good start.

Texans Injury Report Week 12: Danieal Manning Returns In Limited Capacity

The Houston Texans will be getting ready to face the Jacksonville Jaguars without quarterback Matt Schaub, who was officially placed on injured reserve today. In some good news however, the Texans got back wide receiver Andre Johnson, who practiced in full, after missing time with a hamstring injury. Safety Danieal Manning also returned to practice in a limited capacity and it's possible he could play on Sunday.

Only one Texans player missed practice, fullback Lawrence Vickers, who is dealing with a hamstring injury. Three other Texans were limited in practice, but their current status for the game is unknown.

DE Tim Bulman (Calf), TE Garrett Graham (Hamstring), DE Antonio Smith (Shoulder)

Getting back Johnson and Manning on the offense and defense does make the Texans better on both sides of the ball than they were in the first meeting.

Jaguars Injury Report Week 12: Matt Roth And Terrance Knighton's Status Unknown

The Jacksonville Jaguars are coming off their loss to the Cleveland Browns a bit banged up on the defensive side of the football. Starting linebacker Clint Session was placed on injured reserve yesterday, suffering his second concussion of the season. Defensive end Matt Roth also left the Browns game with a "head" injury, presumed to be a concussion. The Jaguars were also without defensive tackle Terrance Knighton, still dealing with an ankle injury. On the practice field today, both Knighton and Roth were held out of practice.

Two other Jaguars defensive players were limited today as well, in defensive tackle Tyson Alualu and cornerback Derek Cox. Alualu has been dealing with a knee injury and his been limited every Wednesday of the season. Cox, was listed as having a knee injury he likely suffered during the game against the Browns.

Defensive end Aaron Kampman (hamstring), wide receiver Brian Robiskie (hamstring), and offensive tackle Guy Whimper (thigh) were also all limited in practice.

Jaguars Place Clint Session On Injured Reserve, Sign Veteran Kevin Bentley To 53-Man Roster

The Jacksonville Jaguars saw what little chance they had at catching the Houston Texans in the AFC South disappear on Sunday when they lost to the Cleveland Browns, 14-10. The loss drops Jacksonville’s record to 3-7, four games behind the Houston Texans in the AFC South. The two will face in Week 12 in Jacksonville with the Texans trying to work in Matt Leinart at quarterback in place of the injured Matt Schaub.

According to JaguarsInsider, the Jags placed linebacker Clint Session on injured reserve with a head injury, and replaced him on the 53-man roster with 10-year veteran Kevin Bentley. Session was seventh on the team in total tackles (30), with one sack under his belt as well. Formerly a linebacker for the Colts, Session was picked up this summer by Jacksonville. He appeared in six games for the Jaguars this year before sustaining the concussion that ultimately prompted doctors to shut him down for the year.

Bentley has traveled around from Cleveland, San Diego, Houston and Seattle during his ten-year career, with his latest stint being in Houston for the past three years.
