The Jacksonville Jaguars have been best by injuries during the entire 2011 NFL season, and two more took their toll on Monday. Safety Chris Prosinski and T.J. Heath saw their seasons end as they were placed on injured reserve. That now makes 23 different players on the Jacksonville roster that have been placed on injured reserve:
The Jaguars are placing T.J. Heath on injured reserve, according to Heath's Twitter. He says he'll need surgery for the shoulder he injured in practice last week.
Prosinski injured his thumb in Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, thus ending his season. To take their places on the roster the Jaguars promoted 3rd-year corner Darcel McBath and 2nd-year corner Robert McClain to the 53-man roster. McBath is a former second round pick of the Denver Broncos whow as placed on injured reserve last season and cut before this season started. He has 33 tackles and two interceptions in his career.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers got kind of embarrassed by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, and a lot of that had to do with Josh Freeman continuing to get over his shoulder injury. But according to Stephen Holder at the St. Petersburg Times, the Bucs and coach Raheem Morris won't blame the performance on the shoulder injury.
“Obviously, he didn’t play well,” coach Raheem Morris said. “But you put him out there. You’ve got to play him. He was healthy. We make no excuses about it. He took a couple (hits) and was able to get back up. . . Obviously, you can’t say (he played) without pain. He played through it. He’s a fighter. This guy is for his team. He wants to go out there and win for them. But we won’t make excuses that he had bad throws because of his bad shoulder. We had bad throws because of decision-making. I wouldn’t put him out there if he wasn’t ready to go.”
Freeman was supposed to be the Buccaneers franchise player and one of their best heading into the year, but he hasn't lived up to expectations at all. The shoulder injury is likely a big part of that, but Freeman has to do a better job when he is on the field.

Maurice Jones-Drew had a darn good game on Sunday, scoring two touchdowns on the ground and another two through the air. It was his best game of the year so far, and it meant a ton in terms of historical perspective for the Franchise. With those four touchdowns, Jones-Drew broke the Franchise's all time touchdown record with 73, surpassing Fred Taylor's 70. Taylor was Jones-Drew's mentor when he got into the league, and according to Vito Stellino of the Florida Times-Union, the importance of passing him is not lost on MJD.
“He mentored me to be the player I am today,” Jones-Drew said. “For him to take time out of his career to work with me, it means a lot to me. . . Words can’t really explain how excited I am to have a guy who taught me how to play this game the right way, how to take care of my body and do those things. I’m proud of the guys around me as well. They’ve been blocking their butts off for the last six years that I’ve been here. They deserve a lot of the credit as well.”

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Kellen Winslow had a quiet day on Sunday in Jacksonville. He was targeted five times by quarterback Josh Freeman, but caught only two balls for 38 yards and was held out of the end zone. Those 38 yards were still good enough to lead all Tampa pass catchers in a brutal day at EverBank Field. Freeman, who was returning from a shoulder injury, was erratic for most of the day and threw two interceptions. The Bucs quarterback simply could not hit Winslow as the offense sputtered after taking a 14-0 lead in the first half.
The Buccaneers return home next week to face the Dallas Cowboys at Raymond James Stadium. As the fantasy playoffs continue, Winslow owners will have to hope for more productivity against Rob Ryan's defense.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers losing streak hit seven on Sunday at EverBank Field against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Quarterback Josh Freeman was making his return after sitting out last week in a blowout loss to the Carolina Panthers. Despite his return, it was more of the same for Tampa as the Bucs were blown out 41-14 to extend the losing streak.
The Bucs finished with 7 turnovers, three of which were given away by Freeman. The big quarterback finished with two interceptions and one fumble lost. It looked like the Bucs were in good shape to end their losing streak after Freeman scrambled in from 16 yards out to give Tampa a 14-0 lead. But that would be it for the Bucs, as Jacksonville responded with 41 unanswered points.
Freeman finished 16 of 20 for 181 yards. He added 26 yards on the ground in four carries, including the aforementioned rushing touchdown. But it was another ugly game in an ugly season for Freeman and his fantasy owners.

LeGarrette Blount had a productive day on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Unfortunately, his team was blown out after taking a 14-0 lead and the Bucs were forced to sling it in the second half to have any chance of getting back into the game. The Jaguars scored 41 unanswered points to run away with the win.
Blount finished with 74 yards rushing on 18 carries. He scored the game's first touchdown, punching it in from one yard out just over five minutes into the first quarter. But that would be it for Blount and the Bucs. The Tampa running back also contributed to the parade of turnovers, fumbling it twice and losing it once for one of the seven Bucs' giveaways.

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew, the NFL's leading rusher entering Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, had a huge four touchdown day for his fantasy owners. Jones-Drew has been the lone bright spot in a struggling Jaguars' offense this season, but Sunday was a virtuoso performance, scoring twice on the ground and twice through the air. MJD has always been lauded for his versatility, and that was on full display Sunday.
Jones-Drew finished with 85 yards rushing on 27 carries, for just a 3.1 average per carry. But he was targeted six times by rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert. He caught all six throws for 51 total yards and added those two touchdowns in the air. After Tampa took a 14-0 lead, it was all Jones-Drew as the Jags poured it on with 41 unanswered points and brought a smile to MJD fantasy owners everywhere.

For Tampa Bay head coach Raheem Morris, it may be a death knell for his coaching career with the Buccaneers, for Jacksonville, it was a rare laugher as the Jaguars destroyed the Bucs 41-14.

And the beat goes on for Maurice Jones-Drew, who scored for the 3rd time in the game on a 5 yard touchdown pass from Blaine Gabbert. The score capped a 10 play 74 yard drive that saw the Jags convert two 3rd and long situations.
The Jaguars continue to build on their season high in points, now up 35-14 with 10:22 left to play.
Bucs wide receiver Regus Benn left the game late in the third quarter with a head injury.

Jacksonville’s defense continues to dominate the Buccaneers, forcing two turnovers in the third quarter and maintaining a 28-14 lead through three quarters of play.
Josh Freeman was picked off for the second time in the game and LeGarrette Blount fumbled for the second time, killing drives. The Bucs have turned the ball over six times and have also been penalized 10 times for 72 yds.
Penalties sabotaged one of the Bucs’ drives, forcing the Bucs to try and convert a third and long.
Meanwhile, the Jaguars missed a golden opportunity to put the game away but Bucs linebacker Mason Foster intercepted Gabbert in the end zone.
Tampa Bay has outgained Jacksonville 242-227. Thus far, the Bucs have done a decent job on Maurice Jones-Drew, holding him to 55 yards on 17 carries but Jones-Drew has scored both rushing and receiving during the game.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have a season high 28 points scoring two offensive touchdowns, a defensive touchdown and a special teams touchdown to rally from a 14 point second quarter deficit to lead 28-14 at the half.
Tampa Bay simply self-destructed after a rare good start, committing four turnovers that led to 21 Jacksonville points.
Tampa Bay had built a 14-0 lead early in the 2nd quarter with a 1 yard touchdown run by LeGarrette Blount and 13 yard touchdown run by Josh Freeman.
A fumbled punt by Preston Parker (his second of the game) was returned 8 yards for a touchdown by tight end Colin Cloherty to make it 14-7. The turnover seemed to breath life into the Jaguars who were able to stuff the Bucs.
The Jags got the ball back and Blaine Gabbert who hadn’t hit the broadside of a barn the entire ballgame hit Marcedes Lewis on a 62 yard bomb. The big pass play set up a one yard touchdown plunge by Maurice Jones Drew.
Next drive, Parker is penalized for holding, pushing the Bucs back to the 10 yard line – then Josh Freeman was sacked and fumbled the football, recovered by Jacksonville for a touchdown. Suddenly, the Jags are up 21-14.
On the ensuing drive, Freeman was intercepted at the Tampa Bay 49 by Ashton Youboty. Gabbert would work the Jags down to the red zone and then with just 0:11 left in the first half, hit Jones-Drew for a 5 yard touchdown.
Jacksonville leads at the half 28-14.
Tampa Bay outgained Jacksonville 183-178. Josh Freeman is 11/20 for 130 yards and an interception while Gabbert is 11 of 18 for 133 yards 1 touchdown and 1 interception.
Maurice Jones-Drew has 43 yards on 11 carries, one touchdown rushing and receiving.

On the ensuing drive, the Jaguars intercepted Josh Freeman.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took a 14-0 lead over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday at EverBank Field. Josh Freeman, returning after being inactive last week against the Carolina Panthers, scrambled up the middle to give the Bucs a two touchdown lead. Nursing a sore shoulder, it was Freeman's only scramble of the game so far, as the 13 yard run finished with a lunge to break the plane. In the air, Freeman is 8 of 15 for 113 yards against a depleted and injured Jacksonville defensive backfield. Video of Freeman's touchdown run below:
While the run gave Tampa the two touchdown lead, Jacksonville has responded in the second quarter with two scores of their own to even it at 14-14. Freeman and the Bucs are looking to break a six game losing streak.

From there, Maurice Jones-Drew took it in from 1 yard out to tie the football game with 2:05 left to play.
Tampa Bay was completely in control with a 14-0 lead but a fumbled punt by Preston Parker that was returned for touchdown seemed to jolt the Jaguars awake.

There were no major surprises with the Jaguars inactive list released Sunday morning. Most notably, the Jags will be without safety Dwight Lowery as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visit EverBank Field. Lowery adds to the list of infirm in the Jacksonville secondary, which is coming off a game against San Diego where they were exposed by Philip Rivers and will now be dealing with the return of Josh Freeman for Tampa. Chris Prosinski will make the first start of his career in place of Lowery.
Taylor Price, who was just picked up this week after being waived by New England, will be inactive for a wide receiving corps that is in desperate need of speed.
The complete list of Jaguars inactives is below.
QB Dan LeFevour
WR Taylor Price
S Dwight Lowery
CB T.J. Heath

After missing last week's game against the Carolina Panthers, Tampa Bay Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman is active Sunday for their matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Freeman suffered a minor setback with his shoulder on Friday but nevertheless, he has been cleared to play and will get the start, relegating Josh Johnson to backup once again. Micheal Spurlock is active for the first time in over a month, and is listed in his typical wide receiver role but will certainly be an emergency third option at quarterback, with Rudy Carpenter inactive again.
On defense, the Bucs will be without cornerback Aqib Talib who was deactivated before kickoff. The Bucs will have big Albert Haynesworth active at EverBank Field, but are only playing with the three active defensive ends in Michael Bennett, Adrian Clayborn, and Da'Quan Bowers.

No matter who is at quarterback Sunday when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-8) face the Jacksonville Jaguars (3-9), Kellen Winslow will be targeted often and has the opportunity for a huge fantasy day. Winslow averages seven targets a game, and despite catching just nine balls for 93 yards in the past two games, is still just one reception short of being the team's leading receiver. Jacksonville has allowed six touchdown receptions to opposing tight ends this season.
The fantasy football projection site numberFire ranks Winslow as the ninth best option at tight end this weekend. The Tampa Bay TE's projected stats: 3.56 rec for 41.17 yds, 0.34 TDs for 6.17 points.
For the season, Winslow is second on the team in catches, with 56 receptions. He has 569 yards and two touchdowns, and 31 of his 56 receptions have been for first downs.

With the quarterback situation up in the air, LeGarrette Blount and the Buccaneers ground game will be tasked with helping Tampa Bay (4-8) end a six game losing streak when they they face in-state foe Jacksonville (3-9) on Sunday afternoon.
Jacksonville does not have the offense to put Tampa Bay in an early hole, so expect a heavy dose of Blount throughout the game against a Jaguars defense that has allowed two 100-yard rushers and four rushing touchdowns in the past three weeks.
Despite the aforementioned positive signs for a Blount breakout this week, the fantasy football projection site numberFire ranks Blount as just the 17th best option at running back this weekend. The Tampa Bay RB's projected stats: 11.16 car, 49.03 yds, 2.57 rec for 22.74 yds, 0.44 TDs for 9.82 points.
For the season, Blount has rushed 149 times for 663 yards and four touchdowns.

After missing last week's 38-19 loss to the Carolina Panthers with a right shoulder injury, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman was limited during the week's practice, but did take normal reps on Friday and appears ready to play Sunday when Tampa Bay (4-8) travels to Jacksonville (3-9) to take on the Jaguars.
Given the injury concern, it should come as no surprise that fantasy football projection site numberFire ranks Freeman as just the 22nd best option at quarterback this weekend. The Tampa Bay QB's projected stats: 18.72/31.38, 207.02 yds, 1.18 TDs, 0.94 INTs for 12.28 points.
For the season, Freeman has started 11 games, completing 61.8 percent of his 411 pass attempts for 2,715 yards,12 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.

In their first clash with in-state foe Tampa Bay since 2007, the Jacksonville Jaguars (3-9) host the Buccaneers (4-8) Sunday afternoon in a battle of team struggling teams. Tampa Bay has lost six straight games, allowing an average of 30.7 points in the process. The Jaguars, on the flip side, have the worst offense in the league, averaging just 254.7 yards a game, and only muster 12.7 points per contest.
Given those stats, it is then perhaps surprising that on ESPN.com's Most Add/Dropped list the Tampa Bay defense comes in as the 25th most added and Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis is the 16th Most Added player. Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman, who has struggled the entire season, is 25th on the Most Dropped list.

The Jacksonville Jaguars will be hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday in Week 14 action. As of Friday afternoon, the away team look to be slight favorites, according to our friends over at OddsShark.
The opening line on Sunday's game had the Buccaneers as 2.5 point favorites with an over/under of 40 points. The news coming out of both teams' camps following weekday practices hasn't revealed any groundbreaking injury news, so the lines haven't moved much past that.
The Buccaneers are currently favored at between one and two points, with an over/under of 39 points across the board. The two teams are fairly evenly matched, so factoring in the home field aspect for Jacksonville may make the spread far too close to comfortably call. The Buccaneers are also the slight moneyline favorites, at anywhere from (-127) to (-135), while the Jaguars are at (+107) to (+115).

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Josh Freeman resumed throwing during Thursday's practice, reports Joe Smith of the St. Pete Times, indicating there's a chance he could suit up for the Bucs' game against the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday. Freeman sat out Sunday's loss to the Carolina Panthers after spraining a joint in his right (throwing) shoulder the week prior against the Tennessee Titans. Starting in place of Freeman, Josh Johnson completed 16-of-27 passes for 229 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
Freeman "threw some slant passes with velocity and some deeper throws," writes Smith, "and it didn't look like he was in discomfort." However, the team still lists him as questionable for Sunday's game, and all four of Tampa Bay's quarterbacks took practice reps on Thursday.
Freeman has completed a career-best 61.8 percent of his passes this season, his third overall. However, he has thrown just 12 touchdowns and 16 interceptions to date, just one year after tossing 25 touchdowns to six picks. If he's able to line up under center Sunday, he'll attempt to lead the Bucs to just their second win since Oct. 16, when they upset the New Orleans Saints behind Freeman's 303 passing yards and two touchdowns.

Two of our regional's teams are in a matchup this week that may be the lowlight of the entire NFL weekend. The Jaguars and the Buccaneers will play in a game that might have been considered a slam dunk win for the Bucs before the year. Now? Who knows. I'd rather go to the experts, first, at SB Nation Arizona.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Jacksonville Jaguars (+1): The line tells it all. This one is a toss up. The Jaguars are one of the worst offenses in the NFL while the Bucs have a horrible defense. What happens when those two things collide is an age old question in sports (Bad offense vs. Bad defense). When in doubt, go home. Pick: Jaguars
Next, our pals at SB Nation St. Louis.
Wow this is a horrible matchup. The Bucs are trying to plug holes on a defense that has given up 20 or more points in eight straight games, but the Jaguars are the second- worst scoring offense in the league (12.7 pts/gm). Something has to give, people! This game has local blackout written all over it. Even if Josh Freeman doesn't play, I think the Bucs break their six-game losing streak...not that it matter much at this point anyways. Pick: Bucs

Quarterback Josh Freeman was also listed on the injury report with a shoulder injury and was limited. Freeman is hopeful however, and expected to be available to start on Sunday. In some good news, defensive tackle Brian Price returned to practice in full and is expected to play.
