The five-year veteran suffered a partially torn labrum in Jacksonville's season finale.
Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Paul Posluszny suffered what the team termed a shoulder sprain in their season-ending victory against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, reports Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times Union, and underwent an MRI scan Monday to determine the severity of the injury. "The injury appears to be serious," Ganguli says.
Posluszny led the Jags with 119 tackles (69 solo) in 2011. He also tied for the team lead with two interceptions and five tackles for loss. The Penn State product signed a six-year contract with Jacksonville prior to the 2011 season. Before joining the Jaguars, Posluszny played four seasons with the Buffalo Bills, tallying 397 tackles (294 solo), four intereptions, three sacks, and four forced fumbles.
Despite their 5-11 record, the Jags fielded a strong defensive unit, thanks in part to Posluszny's performance. Jacksonville ranked No. 9 in rushing defense, No. 8 in pass defense, No. 6 in yards allowed, and No. 11 in points allowed during the 2011 campaign.

Paul Posluszny Injury: Jacksonville Jaguars Linebacker Has Surgery, Is Expected To Return For Training Camp, According To Report
Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Paul Posluszny partially tore the labrum in his left shoulder during the Jags' season-ending victory against the Indianapolis Colts, but as Tania Ganguli reports, the five-year veteran is on the mend. Citing sources, Ganguli says Posluszny underwent surgery to fix the injury sometime "this month." He is expected to be out of action until training camp, Ganguli says, as he recovers from the surgery.
Posluszny, who signed with Jacksonville as a free agent prior to the 2011 season, led the team with 119 tackles (69 solo). In addition, the former Penn State standout made two sacks, recorded two interceptions, forced two fumbles, and broke up nine passes.
Posluszny anchored a Jaguars defense that was stronger than the team's 5-11 record might indicate: Jacksonville ranked No. 6 in yards allowed in No. 11 in points allowed.
