Jaguars Free Agency 2012: Jags Pursuing WR Josh Morgan?

Stay connected for news and updates

Blaine Gabbert had a tough rookie year for the Jacksonville Jaguars, but if the team doesn't find him some help at the wide receiver position in the offseason, they won't exactly be setting him up to succeed. One potential free agent wide receiver target is Josh Morgan, who was a solid early-season contributor for the San Fransisco 49ers in 2011 before an injury ended his season prematurely. Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area believes that Morgan is a serious target for Jacksonville.

Jacksonville is expected to make a competitive play for Morgan once the free-agent signing period opens. Former 49ers assistant Jerry Sullivan, who thinks highly of Morgan, was hired as the Jaguars wide receivers coach in January.

Morgan caught 15 passes for 220 yards and one touchdown in five games last season. He underwent season-ending surgery on his ankle in October.
