Following the assignment of the franchise tag to Josh Scobee, the Jaguars have apparently not bothered to even consider negotiating a long-term contract with the kicker. Less than a week after Gene Smith told Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times-Union that there had been no recent talks with Scobee, the kicker's agent, Ken Harris, told Vito Stellino of the Times-Union that they've been waiting for months to speak with the Jaguars.
His agent, Ken Harris, emailed, "Josh has asked me not to discuss specifics of negotiations other than what has already been said. That is, we had some talks early on involving proposals from both sides, but haven't heard back from them in months. We know our last proposal is very fair.''
