Maurice Jones-Drew Hold Out: Jaguars Running Back Will Not Report To Camp On Time, According To Report

In news that should be shocking to absolutely no one, running back Maurice Jones-Drew will not be reporting for training camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars on time. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the three-time All-Pro will do what many thought he would and extend his hold out from team activities into training camp.

Jones-Drew also missed all prior offseason activity due to displeasure with his current contract status with the team.

The three-time Pro Bowler signed a five-year contract worth just under $31 million, but after receiving over $21 million of the deal in the first three seasons of the deal, Jones-Drew is set to receive less than $9.5 million in the final two seasons before expiring after the 2013 season.

Jaguars general manager Gene Smith and owner Shahid Khan have made it clear in prior media addresses that their expectation is for Jones-Drew to honor the final two years on his contract and will not re-negotiate a new deal.
