No Progress In Jaguars, Justin Blackmon Contract Talks

Stay connected for news and updates

The Jacksonville Jaguars got down to business again on Wednesday morning, hitting the field for another practice. Once again, rookie wide receiver Justin Blackmon was not on the field with his new team. The Jaguars and the first-round pick are still trying to forge a contract, and the latest report from Pro Football Talks says the two sides are no closer to a deal than they were talks started.

Specifics of the holdup in contract talks are unknown. The Jaguars are believed to be seeking some sort of protection in the deal following Blackmon's arrest over the summer for DUI. Off-field concerns weighed on his draft stock prior to Jaguars selecting him.
