With no imminent end in sight for Maurice Jones-Drew's holdout from Jaguars training camp, the team has been down a running back roster spot since the opening of camp. The Jaguars chose to quell need by announcing the signing of running back Keith Toston on Thursday, waiving Gijon Robinson to open the space on the roster.
Toston made the final roster for the St. Louis Rams in 2010 as an undrafted free agent and played in all 16 games for the team. However, he was waived by the Rams in the final cuts prior to the 2011 regular season and was not signed by another team through the season.
Robinson was signed by the Jaguars less than a week prior to his release on Friday, July 27.
