At the Jacksonville Jaguars' kickoff luncheon on Wednesday, owner Shad Khan spoke glowingly about the future of the franchise:
"It starts with people," Khan said to the 2012 Jaguars Kickoff Luncheon at the Prime Osborne Convention Center in downtown Jacksonville. "That's where we're starting. I have had the pleasure of meeting some of the players, and quite frankly, I couldn't be prouder.
"I think as we move forward were going to surprise a lot of people. We're going to win together, we're going to make Jacksonville proud and we're going to make history together."

A London-based NFL franchise may still be pretty far away, but British fans of American football will now get to share the Jacksonville Jaguars for one game a year.
The Jaguars committed to a four-year deal, beginning in 2013, to play one game each year in London's Wembley Stadium.
Jaguars owner Shahid Khan was excited about the benefits the agreement would bring to all, especially for the city of Jacksonville.
"There's a huge amount of upside for everybody," Khan said. " I think most importantly the upside here is for Jacksonville and the Jaguars we have a chance to develop a bigger fan base. I see no down side for anybody, huge upside for everybody."
This deal was made possible when the Rams, with the NFL's blessing, pulled out of their three-year commitment to play in London.
There has been no word on which team the Jaguars will face, but Roger Goodell and the NFL will search for an "attractive" match-up.

Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan sent an e-mail to season ticket holders about their participation in games in London starting in 2013. In the e-mail, Khan lays out his plans to expand the team's brand through the world. Khan also says that its part of a plan to help expand tourism for Jacksonville as well as making it a destination for commerce and living.
The Jaguars will hold a press conference with NFL commissioner Roger Gooddell at about 2 p.m. to confirm Jacksonville's participation in the international series games. All four of those games will be held at London's Wembley Stadium.
What follows is the e-mail that Khan sent to season ticket holders.
I am very proud to share the news that your Jacksonville Jaguars will be announced today as the featured home team in London as part of the NFL International Series.
Beginning in 2013, the Jaguars will play one of our regular season home games in Wembley Stadium through 2016 as part of the National Football League's effort to grow the NFL brand throughout the world. The Jaguars and the entire Jacksonville community will be a centerpiece in the NFL's efforts over these four seasons, and that's a very exciting and rewarding development for all of us. My ambition is to make the Jaguars one of the signature franchises in the NFL and to see Jacksonville realize its full potential as a destination for commerce, tourism and living. An annual home game in London over four years, supported by initiatives in Jacksonville and throughout the United Kingdom to further develop our following, will help us achieve these goals and much more.
I am honored to welcome NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to Jacksonville today to announce the news, and in the weeks to come the Jaguars will have more information for our fans, partners and friends in the community. I wanted you to hear the news from me directly, and I thank you for the consistent and impressive support you've given the Jaguars over the years. I know great things are ahead for the Jacksonville Jaguars!
In other news involving the new owner, Khan has also been followed by the crew from 60 minutes for a feature. Though the air date has yet to be determined, it will air soon.

Adam Stites from Big Cat Country thinks Jacksonville Jaguars games in London are a great idea.
The team is set to announce on Tuesday its intentions to be the host team for one game each season between 2013 and 2016 in England, according to multiple reports.
Stites says this a good thing for the Jags and their fans:
For the Jaguars, winning will go a long way towards fixing the fact that the team isn't very popular outside of Jacksonville, but exposure on a grand scale is certainly going to help as well. A world tour that exposes the Jaguars to markets such as London as well as possible other markets like Ireland, Spain, Germany or Mexico is a great opportunity for that type of exposure.
So no, the international series is not a threat that could remove the Jaguars from the Jacksonville market. In fact, it's goal is the opposite. Exposure overseas is something intended to help the Jacksonville market by providing some marketability and recognition.
With all the talk of relocation always hovering over the franchise, Stites makes some excellent points. The Jaguars need some visibility, and they're about to get it in a big way.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are looking to grow their fan base by any means necessary. Even if it means having to fly to another continent to play a home game.
The team will announce on Tuesday it's plan to be the home team for one game each year in London between 2013-2016, according to ESPN.com. The St. Louis Rams were originally slated to do so, but have since pulled out.
While the Jaguars have been at the center of many talks involving relocation when Los Angeles comes up, nobody expects the team to pick up and move to England anytime soon. The NFL is only playing one game a year there as a showcase right now, a far cry from actually having a team based there.
Owner Shad Khan is simply trying to bring in some revenue for a team that has been in desperate need of it.
Jacksonville fans can rest assured they'll still have seven games to cheer on their team in the Jags real home stadium.
