The Jacksonville Jaguars play the Minnesota Vikings in Week 1 of the 2012 NFL season on Sunday, and they aren't taking any chances by assuming running back and fantasy football stud Adrian Peterson will be out.
Peterson has been sidelined with a severe right knee injury since Dec. 24. He had limited participation in Vikings' practice on Wednesday, but Peterson's dynamic abilities have the Jaguars preparing for a heavy dose of the running back anyway.
The Jacksonville coaching staff talked about Peterson on Wednesday, from jacksonville.com:
"We’re preparing for him to play," defensive tackle Tyson Alualu said before practice. "He’s probably one of the best running backs we’ll face so we have to definitely come with our ‘A’ game if we’re to stop the run."
Peterson rushed for 908 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2011 before his season-ending injury.
