Dolphins wins help mask issues that still linger

Even though the Dolphins defeated the Rams in Week 6, the Dolphins still made plenty of mistakes -- and were fortunate to come away with a win.

Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin isn't too happy with his team's performance last week -- even though the Dolphins came away with a 17-14 win over the St. Louis Rams, which put the Dolphins in a four-team tie atop the AFC East.

Philbin saw plenty that needed to be corrected in the win -- and planned on showing it to his Dolphins in a meeting.

"We just got to be honest; we're going into a team meeting in 10 minutes and show the entire team three really good plays from each unit of play and three plays that need correction,'' Philbin said during a noon press conference on Monday. "I'm not that smart where I could play mind games, so we're just going to show them what was real in the game.''

Miami was outgained by St. Louis in total yards, 462-192. The Rams rushed for 162 yards, while holding Miami to just 19 yards rushing.

Amazingly, Reggie Bush carried the ball 12 times, but gained only 17 yards.

Still, the Dolphins found a way to win -- and at the end of the day, wins and losses are what matters.

For Philbin, though, process matters. Philbin will have a lot to work with as the Dolphins enter their bye week, and look to compete for the AFC East crown as the season progresses.
