Miami Dolphins running backs Daniel Thomas and Nolan Carroll both suffered head injuries in Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. How severe were these injuries?
In the Miami Dolphins' 17-13 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, two players on the Dolphins roster suffered head injuries during the game. Running back Daniel Thomas left the game in the fourth quarter after being hit helmet-to-helmet by Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga, who also left the game after the hit.
In addition to Thomas, cornerback Nolan Carroll also left the game briefly in the third quarter after being hit in the head by teammate Karlos Dansby. Carroll was cleared on the sidelines and returned to the game after missing two series. He should be ready to play against the St. Louis Rams next week.
Carroll started Sunday's game for injured cornerback Richard Marshall who missed all of practice the previous week because of a bad back. All the other players that were on the Dolphins' injury report, including quarterback Ryan Tannehill, running back Reggie Bush and defensive tackle Tony McDaniel were all available to play after practicing last week.
