Titans vs. Dolphins 2012 game preview: Miami trying to get back on track

Gregory Shamus

After a narrow loss to Indianapolis last week, the Dolphins will try to get back on a winning streak against Tennessee.

The Miami Dolphins will try to rise above .500 when they host the Tennessee Titans 1 p.m. Sunday.

The Dolphins are 4-4 this season. Miami is coming off a 23-20 loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Adam Vinatieri's 43-yard field goal in the final six minutes decided the game.

The Titans enter Sunday's game at 3-6. Tennessee is still patching its wounds in a 51-20 loss to Chicago on Sunday. The Titans converted just 3-of-12 third-down chances in the lopsided loss.

For Miami to grab a win, it'll want another solid performance from Ryan Tannehill. The rookie quarterback was doubtful for Sunday's game with a hyperextended knee, but he still completed 22-of-38 passes for 290 yards and a touchdown.

As good as Tannehill was, fellow rookie Andrew Luck was even better. The No. 1 overall pick torched the 'Phins' defense for 433 passing yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Despite being down 28-2 at the end of the first quarter Sunday, the Titans were able to rack up a nice day on the ground. Chris Johnson rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. However, he also lost two fumbles.

The game will air on CBS.
