Jake Locker injury: Titans QB cleared for contact, could start vs. Dolphins

Jake Roth-US PRESSWIRE

The Titans are 3-6 on the season and in desperate need of a victory.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker has been cleared for contact and is on track to start this weekend against the Miami Dolphins, according to ESPN. Tennessee coach Mike Munchak announced the news of Locker's clearance on his radio show Tuesday night, according to Titan Insider. Locker worked with the starting offense in practice on Wednesday.

Locker has been sidelined since separating his shoulder in Week 4 against the Houston Texans. It was his second shoulder separation of the season. Matt Hasselbeck has led the Titans to a 2-3 record in Locker's absence. Hasselbeck completed 62.7% of his passes this season, with seven touchdown passes and five interceptions. The Titans are 3-6 on the season overall.

If Locker does indeed start, he will definitely feel pressure to perform. After Sunday's 51-20 loss to Chicago, Titans owner Bud Adams commented that everyone in the organization will be evaluated during the final seven games of the season.
