Reggie Bush confident he will play vs. Cardinals

Robert Mayer-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Despite a knee injury suffered in Week 3 that withheld him from Wednesday practice, the Dolphins running back is pretty confident about his chances of playing on Sunday.

Despite a sprained knee suffered during the first half against the Jets in Week 3, Dolphins running back Reggie Bush is very confident that he'll be ready to go for the Cardinals on Sunday. An MRI taken by the running back on Monday revealed no structural damage; however, Bush did not return to the practice field on Wednesday and practice on limited practice, but that didn't stopping him from telling the Sun-Sentinel that he's preparing action.

"That's something you've got to ask Coach about because I'll tell you right now I'm playing Sunday, but I'm sure that's why I'm not the head coach. I'm going to do everything I can from a physical and mental standpoint to prepare myself as if I'm playing Sunday and, if I get the call and it's true that I can play, then I'll be ready to go."

Despite the injury withholding him from the second half against the Jets, Bush has still racked up 302 yards on 50 rushing attempts with two touchdowns. He is one of just five backs that has appeared in all three weeks and is averaging over 100 yards/game and is second among those five in yards/carry.

Bush broke the 1,000 yard mark for the first time in his career during his first season with the Dolphins in 2011.
