If the 2011 NFL season ended today, the Miami Dolphins would have the 7th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

When Chad Henne went down with a season ending injury earlier, the Dolphins elected not to acquire another quarterback and just roll with Matt Moore and J.P. Losman on the active roster. Now, according to Omar Kelly of the Sentinel, Moore could be out with a concussion, which would leave just Losman on the roster.
The hit forced an incompletion and Moore rolled on the floor for a while before being helped off the field. He suffered a head injury and J.P. Losman finished the game, playing the entire fourth quarter as the Dolphins trailed 24-10. If it is determined that Moore suffered a concussion he’ll be subjected to baseline tests next week, which will determine his playing status for Sunday’s road game against the Buffalo Bills. The Dolphins typically shy away from acknowledging that players suffer concussions to avoid such testing, which is mandated by the NFL.
Losman finished the game on Sunday completing six of his 10 passing attempts for 60 yards, but he was sacked in the endzone for a safety. Moore was a delightful surprise when he stepped in for Henne earlier this year, but I'm not sure it's fair to expect the Dolphins to catch lightning in a bottle twice in the same season.

The Miami Dolphins offense has enjoyed some success under Brian Daboll and quarterback Matt Moore in the second half of the season. On Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, however, the offense came back to earth as the Fins scored only one touchdown and Moore had a two turnover day before he was injured in the third quarter. He was replaced by JP Losman.
These struggles came at the expense of fantasy owners of Brandon Marshall, who started the game hot with a 16 yard touchdown from Moore for the 7-0 Miami lead. Marshall finished with just four catches for 27 yards, with the only redemption for his fantasy owners coming from the first quarter score.

Offensive line wins games.
Conversely, an offensive line can lose games.
The Miami Dolphins offensive line was decimated by injuries to T Jake Long and G Vernon Carey in the first half and their replacements, especially T Nate Gardner, were unable to prevent the Philadelphia Eagles from pressuring the quarterback all day. C Mike Pouncey, normally reliable, had trouble snapping the ball in the shotgun formation at times, reminding some of the struggles he went through last year as a senior at Florida. T Marc Colombo was abused all day, mostly by DE Jason Babin, who ended the day with three sacks. The Philadelphia Eagles defense managed nine total sacks and another eight hits on the quarterback in their 26-10 win over the Dolphins on Sunday.
QB Michael Vick threw for 208 yards and a touchdown in his return from injury. Vick wasn't particularly sharp throwing the ball in his return (15 completions in 30 attempts with an interception), but he was able to extend plays with his legs and make the plays he needed to at the right time.
The Dolphins struggled to run the ball in the first half, but managed to finish 109 yards for the game, mostly on the back of RB Reggie Bush. Bush finished the day with 103 yards on 14 carries and did his part in a third quarter drive, breaking runs of 12 and 17 yards to set the Dolphins up at the Eagles 2 yard line, but the Dolphins failed to convert and had to settle for a field goal. RB Daniel Thomas struggled most of the game, finishing with four yards on seven carries. He was stopped for negative yardage on a few occasions, including near the goal line.
QB Matt Moore, who had been playing effectively the previous several weeks, was injured in the third quarter on a hit by LB Brian Rolle and didn't return. Before he left the game, Moore had completed 11 of his 19 passes for only 95 yards, but did throw a touchdown to WR Brandon Marshall in the first quarter. Backup QB J.P. Losman came in and briefly led the Dolphins on a drive, but fumbled the snap on a fourth down conversion attempt and was mostly unproductive during his time in the game.
All was not bad for the Dolphins on Sunday. Their run defense proved up to the task of stopping RB LeSean McCoy, who was held to a mere 38 yards in 27 carries for an average of 1.4 yards per carry. McCoy managed to score two touchdowns in the game, but both were from the goal line, one on the play after Eagles S Kurt Coleman intercepted Moore and returned it to the one yard line. McCoy entered the game ranking second in the NFL in rushing yard with 1,134, only three behind Jacksonville Jaguars RB Maurice Jones-Drew and was averaging 5.3 yards per carry.
The loss ensures the Dolphins their third consecutive losing season under Tony Sparano, who will fall to 4-9 in his fourth season as head coach. There has been much speculation all season about Sparano's status, and this loss will not quell any rumors. The best the Dolphins can do at this point is finish 7-9 (which is the team's record each of the past two seasons), but have one more matchup with the New England Patriots and the New York Jets, each of whom have playoff aspirations. The Dolphins will play the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo next week.
Final Score: Eagles 26, Dolphins 10

The Dolphins came out of the locker room at halftime looking to close the gap on the Eagles' 17-point lead. The Eagles were able to prevent RB Reggie Bush from converting a third down by tackling him just short of the first down mark on a dump off pass. The Eagles followed the three-and-out by driving down the field, but CB Sean Smith intercepted a QB Michael Vick pass intended for TE Brent Celek. It was Smith's second interception of the season.
The offense, which has struggled to move the ball much all day, was unable to take advantage of the turnover and punted the ball after another three-and-out. P Brandon Fields was able to stick the ball at the Eagles 3 yard line, where the Dolphins defense seemed to get their groove back. RB LeSean McCoy was stopped on first down for a 1-yard gain and Vick threw two more incomplete passes and was pressured by the Dolphins defensive line, which was able to once again penetrate the Eagles offensive line.
Bush was able to take the first play from scrimmage for a 12 yard run up the middle, which he followed with a 17 yard run up the middle. On first and goal, Bush ran behind the left guard for a five yard gain, setting the Dolphins up on second down on the Eagles 2-yard line. On second down, QB Matt Moore threw the ball out of bounds and on third down, RB Daniel Thomas ran the ball up the middle for a 2-yard loss. On fourth down, K Dan Carpenter kicked a field goal to bring the Dolphins within two scores.
The Eagles took over at their own 20 yard line. DE Randy Starks nearly sacked Vick, but Vick was able to escape and found WR Riley Cooper for a 29-yard gain. The Eagles' drive stalled and were forced to punt. The Dolphins took over at their own 13 yard line. On second down, LB Brian Rolle rushed through the middle of the Dolphins offensive line hit Moore in the ribs. Moore was forced to sit and backup QB J.P. Losman came in and completed a pass to TE Anthony Fasano for a first down. Bush flowed that with a 12 yard rush for another first down. Bush carried the ball up the middle for an 8-yard gain, when time in the third quarter expired.

All of the momentum that the Dolphins had in the first quarter completely dissipated in the second quarter. The Eagles began the quarter deep into Dolphins territory after a 26-yard catch by RB LeSean McCoy. WR DeSean Jackson set up McCoy on the one yard line after an eight yard catch and Koa Misi stopped McCoy at the goal line. On the next play, McCoy rushes behind the left tackle for a touchdown.
On the next possession, C Mike Pouncey was called for a holding penalty on first down and Bush ran left for a three yard gain. On second down, QB Matt Moore dropped back for a pass over the middle that was intercepted by S Kurt Coleman, who returned the ball to the Dolphins 1 yard line. On the following play, McCoy ran one yard for a touchdown, putting the Eagles up by seven.
The next Dolphins possession ended with a third down fumble by WR Davone Bess. CB Asante Samuel was in coverage and forced the fumble. The Eagles took over at the Dolphins 34, but had to settle for a 40-yard field goal by K Alex Henery.
On the next Dolphins possession, LB Casey Matthews sacked Moore for a seven yard loss, forcing a Dolphins punt. On the punt, DeSean Jackson fielded the punt on the left side of the field and lateralled the ball all the way to the right side of the field, where the ball was caught by Eagles CB Curtis Marsh. Dolphins S Tyrone Culver forced a fumble and the Dolphins recovered the ball at the Eagles 24 yard line. On the ensuing play, DE Jason Babin put a spin move on T Marc Colombo and sacked Moore, causing a fumble, which the Eagles recovered.
Looking to capitalize on the Dolphins' third turnover of the day, QB Michael Vick began the drive by passing to TE Brent Celek for a nine yard gain. After McCoy rushed for a first down, Vick passed the ball to WR Jason Avant for a 28 yard gain. On the next play, Vick found Jackson open in the end zone for a 34-yard touchdown. Jackson beat S Yeremiah Bell, who was expecting help from CB Vontae Davis on the outside.
The Dolphins offensive troubles continued as they failed to convert a fourth down and 1 around midfield. RB Lex Hilliard rushed up the middle and an official replay confirmed the ruling on the field.
The Dolphins gave up 24 points in the second quarter and go into half time unable to protect the football. T Jake Long, who left the game in the first quarter with an apparent back injury, is not expected to return. G Vernon Carey went down in the second quarter with an injury and his status is unknown at this time.

The Miami Dolphins began the game on defense the way they needed to: relentlessly attacking QB Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles offense. LB Jason Taylor sacked Vick twice in the first quarter, moving into sole possession of sixth place on the all-time sack list with 138.5. The Eagles managed a first down on their first possession, but the Dolphins forced a punt attempt. On the punt attempt, CB Jimmy Wilson came in from the outside and blocked the punt and the Dolphins recovered the ball on the Eagles’ 15 yard line.
RB Reggie Bush began the ensuing possession by running for a five yard gain, but QB Matt Moore was sacked on the next play by LB Brian Rolle. On third down, WR Brandon Marshall beat CB Nnamdi Asomugha on a corner route to the back corner of the end zone and caught the pass from Moore for a touchdown.
The Dolphins continued their assault on the Eagles offensive line, particularly DE Jared Odrick. Odrick had a batted pass at the line of scrimmage and the defensive line kept Eagles RB LeSean McCoy in check on the ground. S Tyrone Culver also defended a pass.
After a holding penalty by the Eagles on their punt, the Dolphins were set up near field goal range. Two RB Daniel Thomas rushes and an incomplete pass to Marshall set up a 55-yard field goal attempt for K Dan Carpenter, which was wide left.
The Eagles ended the quarter by driving the ball into Dolphins territory.
Score: Dolphins 7, Eagles 0

The Miami Dolphins are looking to win the fifth out their last six games on Sunday against the stumbling Philadelphia Eagles. The Dolphins struck first at Sun Life Stadium, with quarterback Matt Moore hooking up with All-Pro wide receiver Brandon Marshall.
Marshall caught the lob from Moore in the corner of the end zone. It was a perfectly placed ball and the Fins wideout masterfully got both feet down before he hit the back of the end zone. The touchdown came on a quick strike after Miami's special teams blocked a Chas Henry punt. The ball sputtered back about 15 yards where it was recovered by Philly on the 15 yard line. Just three plays later, Moore would hit Marshall.
Video of the touchdown strike is below.

The Miami Dolphins will be hosting the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday in Week 14 action. As of Friday afternoon, they are the slight favorites over the struggling Eagles, whose "Dream Team" moniker has become the subtle insult of the 2011 NFL season.
The line for the game opened with the Dolphins favored by three points, which is more or less where the line has stuck. The over/under for the game is at 36.5 across the board, according to our friends over at OddsShark.
Although the Dolphins hold a 4-8 record and are in sole possession of last place in the AFC East, they have turned things around as of late, winning four of their last five games and coming off a Week 13 win in which they thoroughly dismantled the Oakland Raiders. The Eagles, meanwhile, have lost four of their last five and are tied for last place in the NFC East, along with the Washington Redskins.
