The Miami Dolphins had a top ten defense this year in terms of total points allowed, and yet, they are still interested in bringing in a coach who will be focused on that side of the ball. One of those candidates is Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, and according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, Zimmer will interview with the team on Tuesday. He has been in line for a job for a long time, and he almost started to lose hope.

"It's still alive, but sometimes you get frustrated over the course of time,'' Zimmer told Sports Illustrated recently. ""I go back and think about what they said about Tony Dungy and guys like that. You kind of wonder sometimes, like what else can I do? What does it take? You wonder why some guys get interviewed or get a job over you, but you just end up going with it, and still keep hoping for that opportunity to run your own team.

Zimmer gets a ton of respect around the league, and he would be a solid hire for the Dolphins. He is a big enough name to generate some buzz, but he wouldn't be some re-tread of a different teams' former coach.
