The Dolphins are rumored to be one of the teams most interested in signing free agent quarterback Peyton Manning when he is released officially on Tuesday when the free agency period begins. However, signing Manning may make it difficult to garner any other help. The NFL announced that its salary cap will bet $120.6 million for 2012. The Dolphins, right before free agency, stand $11.8 million under the cap.
Though it is dependent on what the terms of any contract that the Dolphins would sign Manning to, but signing him could hamstring the Dolphins in either re-signing their own players or maybe going after lesser priced players. Free agent quarterback Matt Flynn could be another possibility if the Dolphins do not sign Manning.
