The Miami Dolphins and pass rusher Cameron Wake agreed to a four-year, $49 million contract extension over the weekend, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal includes $20 million in guaranteed money. Additional contract details were unknown on Sunday morning.

Wake sat out veteran workouts prior to the draft, displeased about the lack of a new deal. This season was the final year of the deal he originally signed with the Dolphins in 2009. Wake attended conditioning workouts on April 20, with his contract issue still unresolved. Both Wake's agent and the Dolphins were working on a deal at that time. The draft put it on the back burner for a week or so.

Wake led Miami with eight and a half sacks last season. The year before that he had 14 sacks, and a total of 28 coming to the NFL three years ago.
